Last month, another young Indian opener Ishan Kishan also joined the elite list after scoring 210 in just 131 balls against Bangladesh on. Let us look at the details on fastest Double century in ODIs.

Fastest double century in ODI:
Ishan Kishan scored the quickest double hundred in men’s ODI cricket history and became the fourth Indian batter overall to register ODI 200 in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Kishan broke Chris Gayle‘s previous record of 138 balls with a fast single that came off 126 balls.

Ishan Kishan highest score in ODI: This knock of 210 marked as the highest score for Ishan Kishan in ODI till date.
With this feat, Kishan became the seventh batsman in ODIs to score a double century.
Ishan’s double century also elevated him above Australia’s Shane Watson (185* in 20111) to the distinction of scoring the most runs in an innings by a visiting hitter in Bangladesh. He also beat former India captain Sourav Ganguly to become the India’s most run-scorer as an opener in an away game.
Ishan was not in India’s scheme to be a part of playing 11 against Bangladesh. But, the oppourtunity for Kishan created when regular skipper Rohit Sharma suffered a thumb injury in the second ODI that prevented him from playing in the third game, and the young batter seized the chance to stake a claim for a spot in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
