3. Lasith Malinga

Known as the yorker king and the most reliable T20 bowler in the world, Lasith Malinga has played over 122 games and has grabbed 170 wickets at an economy of 7.14 

Who can forget his famous last over in the final of IPL 2019, where he had to defend 2 runs on the final ball, and he bowled a slower yorker to Shardul Thakur which the latter failed to read that guided Mumbai to win their fourth title.  

The right-arm orthodox bowler has secured 6 Player of the match awards to claim the third spot in the list. Malinga won the purple cap in the 2011 edition after taking 28 wickets in 16 games.

2. Umesh Yadav

The speedster has joined the Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024 due to his blistering fast speed and controlled swings.  

Yadav has played for various franchises in the league from Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru to Delhi Capitals.  

Umesh has played 148 games in the league so far and has bagged 143 wickets at an economy of 8.46, including 3-wicket hauls.  

With as many as 10 POTM awards Umesh is sitting in second position in the list.
