England’s Limited Overs Tour Of India Rescheduled To Early 2021

ECB & BCCI are discussing the possibility of an all formats tour of the English team to India:

On Friday (07-08-2020), the BCCI admitted that England’s tour to India for a limited-overs series was scheduled to be held in September and October, which has postponed to ‘early 2021’ due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The decision was after the discussion with ECB.

The BCCI release said “With the declaration that ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has been deferred, which was scheduled to be taken place in 2020 October and November, the ECB and the BCCI have confirmed that the white ball tour of team England to India will be postponed to early 2021.

Furthermore, the release stated that both the cricket boards, ECB and BCCI are discussing any possibility of an all-formats competition of England and India from January end to March-end, 2021. Also, the boards are discussing on the tour of England to India later in the year.

Jay Shah Statement:

Jay Shah, the secretary of BCCI speaking about the issue said “The ECB, as well as BCCI, are working closely to come up with a decision the day-wise fixture as we move towards the return of cricket. The England-India series is one of the most likely tournaments in world cricket. the two sides compete really hard against each other on the field and give some exciting moments.”

He added “I am happy with the way the ECB and BCCI have handled the circumstances. The rescheduled tour is also beings managed in such a way that the tour can accommodate both white-ball along with red-ball format. ”

Mr. Tom Harrison, the chief Executive officer of ECB said “In this situation, we have a clear picture on the postponement of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which helps us to discuss with other boards to work on major tasks of arranging international schedules. The international cricket between England and India is one of the most anticipated tours and we look forward to working with BCCI to come up with schedules as soon as possible”
