From their winning squad in Manchester, two changes for England-Jofra Archer rested and Sam Curran returns. Ben Stokes was substituted for Zak Crawley. To Pakistan one shift – Fawad Alam is in to Shadab Khan.

The LBW appeal goes up against Shan Masood and his eye. Shan Masood does not hesitate, and he marches. The sounds like plumb. James Anderson gets his first. PAKE 6:1
Good Start From England:
How good have been this morning with Stuart Broad and James Anderson. The duo has given Pakistan’s openers little to no space to get comfortable. Great starting point for England.
Change In Bowling Attack:
Sam Curran has had James Anderson replaced in the attack. The left-armer is keen to make a mark here.

Great bounce rrom Woakes, gets a thick edge off the bat of Abid Ali and it was put down in the 2nd slips by Rory Burns. Bad Britain.
50 Up For Pakistan:
Abid Ali and Azhar Ali took Pakistan by 50-run level. This is an outstanding partnership between the two batsmen.
Rains Stops Play:
Rain arrives and the umpires agree to leave. We ‘re now 10 minutes away from lunch time. It looks like the umpires are going to call for an early lunch, but we’re going to wait for official confirmation. Pakistan 62 out of 1.

After lunch, Pakistan’s Azhar Ali and Abid Ali return to the center as the play resumes. Anderson and Wide to the England Attack.

Finally, James Anderson gets an edge off Azhar Ali, and there was no error on second slip this time from Rory Burns. Nice wicket. Azhar takes off for 20, Pakistan 78/2.
Rain Stops Play:
Heavy rains in Southampton, and the play was once again halted. Covers are on, and players walk away.
Tea Taken, Umpires To Inspect Outfield:
Pakistan is 85/2 as Southampton takes its tea. The Pitch will soon be checked by Umpires. The outfield is wet but action will soon begin.

Chris Woakes takes off a duck from Fawad Alam. The umpires were not involved in Fawad being stuck on the sheets. Joe Root has called for a study and three reds have been revealed. Pakistan comes in at 120/5.
