England Considers Sub-Continent Training Camp For Test Team

England is looking for a training camp:

Team England is now looking for the possibility of taking place a training camp for their Test team in the sub-continent before the scheduled tours for India and Sri Lanka.

Their Test team finished a 2020 home Test series with a 1-0 victory against Pakistan in a three-match series in Southampton on Tuesday (25-08-2020).

That series was the last series this season and all the matches were held behind the closed doors without any spectators because of Coronavirus after England’s 2-1 victory over the team of West Indies last month.

But the England side left their bi-secure environment, there was no plan when they will play again, with COVID-19 destroyed the complete sporting calendar.

In the month of January, England could play with team Sri Lanka that was previously obstructed in March due to the outbreak of the virus before going to India for a Test series.

Joe Root Statement:

Root said “It is good that some preparations can be done before the winter tours. In case they will carry out then it will be a nice opportunity for us of competing if it is in sub-continent conditions.”

“If not possible then we need to make the most of what available for us.”

In the next game, England will most probably practice with Ben Stokes, who had to miss the last two matches against Pakistan due to some personal reasons.

Zak Crawley made the path for an extra bowler in this season when the star all-rounder Stokes was unfit to bowl. But scoring 267 in the first Test century against the team like Pakistan, he is most probably unlikely to be missed again soon.

Joe Root said, “Zak Crawley has been left out the side two times for the balance of the team so to come into the squad two times and impact both matches shows tremendous amounts talent, class, concentration, skill, and maturity.”
