Rashid, Livingstone and Rabada to play for MI Cape Town in CSA T20 league

Owners of Mumbai Indians Reliance Industries team have revealed the signing of their first set of five players for the inaugural edition of Cricket South Africa’s T20 League. They made he names public, a day after announcing the name of the franchise ‘MI Cape Town”. Here in this article, we talk about MI Cape Town Sings Rashid, Livingstone, and Rabada.

The new franchise ‘MI Cape Town’ consists 3 international players, 1 South Africa capped and 1 South Africa uncapped player. The 3 foreigner players are the spin magician Rashid Khan, England’s destructive batter Liam Livingstone and another English star Sam Curran. The capped player from South Africa is Kagiso Rabada, while the uncapped is Dewald Brevis, who is also part of IPL’s Mumbai Indians team.

“I’m excited as we begin our journey in building ‘MI Cape Town’. With our direct player signings, we have taken the first step towards building the MI philosophy – having a strong core around which the team will be planned. I am glad to welcome Rashid, Kagiso, Liam, Sam, to the #OneFamily and happy to have Dewald continue with us on this new journey.

We are certain that MI Cape Town, like the two other teams, will play the brand of cricket MI is synonymous with – playing fearless cricket, and the same will resonate with the passionate cricket fans of South Africa and across the world,” Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, said in a statement on Thursday (August 11).

The chosen players are the ones who performed brilliantly for their respective franchises in the 2022 IPL season. With Rashid Khan was the part of the IPL 2022 winning squad of Gujarat Titans. While Liam Livingstone was his destructive best with Punjab Kings and Kagiso Rabada was the leader of the same franchise fast bowling department.

While the uncapped Dewald Brevis had a fantastic season with Mumbai Indians in this years IPL. All the star players have been signed ahead of the auctions following the rules that govern the T20 league, the statement added.
