Why Has Australia Never Won The ICC T20 Men’s World Cup?

ICC T20 Men’s World Cup: Despite Australia’s dominant cricket in the past years, they failed to win the shortest format of the game.

They won the 50-over World Cup five times out of 12 but didn’t manage to create the same impact in the T20 format.

However, they have reached the finals of the T20 World Cup 2 times off 7. In 2010, the men in yellow-faced defeat from England and took eleven more years to finally clinch the T20 World Cup in 2021.

New Zealand was the first team to reach the finals of the T20 World Cup 2021. And Australia had to face Pakistan in the semi-final match first in order to reach the finals.

Their chances of reaching the finals were almost shattered when they lost half of their side at the score of 96 in a 177-run chase game. However, Marcus Stoinis (40* off 31) and Matthew Wade (41* off 17) especially changed the whole scenario and earned Australia a victory with 6 balls to spare.

Fans of both the teams again goes to 2015 World Cup flashback where both Australia and New Zealand battle it out in the finals, which Australia won.
