Mitchell Marsh ruled out for the ODI matches against Zimbabwe & New Zealand

The Star all-rounder from Australia Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out for the remaining two ODI matches against Zimbabwe and has also been ruled out for the series against New Zealand. He had to be side-lined due to the upcoming World Cup, although he is suffering from a minor ankle soreness.

Even though he is suffering from a minor injury it is reported that he has been ruled out by the Australian Cricket Board, as the World Cup is upcoming later this year and he must need to recover properly to be in shape at the time of the world cup.

Mitchell Marsh will be back in action against India before the world cup so that he gets some game time, the 30-year-old played a crucial role last year in helping Australia win their maiden T20 World Cup in UAE.

Marsh is a key player for the Australian side and they will certainly lose a key all-rounder for the matches against Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

Former Australian captain after hearing this news said that “It’s obviously not ideal for Mitch. He’s been playing some really good white-ball cricket recently and the way we set up our team the other day with bulk all-rounders, he was obviously a big part of that, disappointing for Mitch but there’s some pretty important stuff coming up, he was a big part of the T20 World Cup campaign last year and sure there are big plans for him this year so the priority is to get him right for that.”

Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis has been announced as the replacement for the injured Mitch Marsh. Josh Inglis is currently playing the Hundred tournament for the London Sprit side and will now join the Australian squad before the second ODI against Zimbabwe.

Australia will now face Zimbabwe in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe, the match will be played on the 31st (Wednesday) at Tony Ireland Stadium, Townsville.
