“Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised to rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team,” Mumbai Indians’ statement read.
Suryakumar Yadav’s absence from the Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2022 playoff contention means that the team will be testing its bench strength. This season, the Mumbai hitter batted in the middle of the order and contributed 303 runs in 8 matches. In order for him to be a frontrunner for the Indian team in the T20 World Cup in 2022, he will need to play several matches before the tournament.
