Deepak Chahar’s recovery takes another five weeks

Deepak Chahar’s recovery: Deepak Chahar, an Indian fast bowler, is expected to require another five weeks to recuperate from a hamstring injury. Due to injury, he missed the recently finished Indian Premier League (IPL) and the T20I series against South Africa, and he will also miss the forthcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland.

Chahar and Washington Sundar, both centrally contracted players, are undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy after suffering injuries (NCA). Sundar is said to be almost fully healed from his hand injury and will receive some game time for Lancashire in county cricket.

The Times of India reported a BCCI insider as stating, “Washington is reaching full health and he needs a lot of game time, which he will only receive in red-ball cricket.” “He’ll play for Lancashire, and this exposure will be invaluable to him.”

Before suffering the injury, Chahar last played for India in a T20I against the West Indies in Kolkata in February. In terms of his recuperation, he claims that he can now bowl four to five overs in a row. He believes he will be unable to play in the forthcoming T20I series against England, and that his recuperation will be gradual.

“I am bowling four to five over at one go as per my rehab program right now. My recovery is going pretty well and I think it will take another four to five weeks for me to get match fit,” Chahar added. “It’s a step-by-step process as far as recovery is concerned. I don’t think I will be fit for the England T20s. Once I am match fit, I will need to play some club-level games to check my fitness.”

The Indian pacer also stated that he will make every effort to return for the West Indies trip, albeit he could not guarantee that he would be fit by then. Three ODIs and five T20Is will be played during the West Indies visit, which begins on July 22.
