Axar hits 3 sixes in a row 

Axar leashed on to Wanindu Hasaranga in the 14th over, which ended up being the game-changing over when he struck a hat trick of sixes. Suryakumar Yadav then jumped in and hit a six, making it the most over in Wanindu Hasaranga’s career (26 runs).

India’s chase for 207 got off to a terrible start as they lost the top order inside the powerplay overs. After the powerplay, Hardik Pandya was subsequently caught behind for 12 points. The situation was then stabilised by Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar before Hasaranga dismissed Hooda for nine. Surya and Axar Patel had stitched together a stand of 90. Surya walked back after scoring 51 off 36, Axar was out in the last over for 65 (31).

When Patel lost his wicket after scoring 65 runs in 31 balls, Shivam Mavi struck a quick-fire 26 off 15 while batting with him, but India had already run out of time.

Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka both scored 50 runs, propelling Sri Lanka to an astounding total in just 20 overs. Mendis hit a six against Umran Malik to reach the 50-ball mark in just 27 balls. Shanaka finished their innings with unbeaten 56 from 22 balls. In the first eight and a half overs of the game, the openers for Sri Lanka added 80 runs for the first wicket. Sri Lanka continued to lose wickets shortly after his dismissal before captain Shanaka took over. He scored a fifty in 20 balls.

Arshdeep bowls five no balls

Arshdeep Singh gained attention in the game due to his five unheard-of no-balls, three of which occurred in succession in his first over. In the end, the 23-year-old had costly stats of 37 runs from two overs.

It was the most by any bowler in the history of T20Is.
