India’s former captain Virat Kohli’s childhood coach RajKumar Sharma slammed the critics who are criticising the modern day great due to some failures.
RajKumar further expressed disagreement with the claims that Virat Kohli will not be the part of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.
He made these comments after India’s first world cup winning captain said that if Ashwin, the no.2 bowler in the world is dropped from the test squad so why Virat Kohli can’t be dropped from T20Is.
“I find these statements to be funny. You should look at the records of those people who are making such comments. As you are talking about the T20 format, where Virat’s average is 50 plus, also his strike rate is 140, what else do you expect from a player to do?” Rajkumar told ANI.
“He has these records in almost 99 matches and not just 5 matches. If you going to feel that after IPL’s failure, Virat should not include in the T20 World Cup squad, then I don’t think that these people have done their homework correctly,” he added.
What Rohit Sharma said about Virat Kohli?
Notably, the current Indian skipper also expressed his views on Virat Kohli’s issue and said that the ones who are criticising him are watching the game from outside and they don’t know what is going on inside.
After a poor run in one-off test against England earlier this month. Kohli managed to score only 12 runs in two T20 games. Despite this, India’s captain Rohit Sharma disagreed with Kapil Dev’s remarks on the top batsman’s position in the team.
During the IPL 2022 season, Virat Kohli, was handling the opening role for the team alongside skipper FAF du Plessis, but failed to leave any impact with his bat.
In the 16 matches he played for RCB in the 15th edition of Indian Premiere League (IPL 2022), he amassed 321 runs at an average of just 22.33 with a strike rate of just 115.99, including two fifties.
