India finished off the series with a decisive 59-run victory in the fourth T20I on Saturday at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida, thanks to a team effort with both the bat and the ball (August 6). India, which was given the opportunity to bat, achieved an impressive 191/5 after being requested to do so.

Rishabh Pant led the way with 44, while most of the other hitters made meaningful contributions. West Indies had a strong start in their chase but lost wickets often and were eventually dismissed for 132. With a career-high 3 for 12, Arshdeep Singh stood out, and Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, and Axar Patel each took two wickets.

By cutting his delivery short and driving straight, Brandon King opened the scoring for the chase with two fours off Bhuvneshwar. Additionally, he guided one past the backward point for his third four by using Avesh Khan’s brisk tempo. But in trying to block a shot, he wound up handing Avesh a catch back, and Avesh also managed to get rid of Devon Thomas. After hitting four and three sixes off of Axar Patel in the fifth over, Nicholas Pooran was run out for an 8-ball 24 and left stranded midway through the over after Mayers refused to take a short single.

With a boundary each from Arshdeep Singh, Mayers and Rovman Powell helped West Indies conclude the powerplay at 61/3. Then Axar took two wickets. After Powell hit two sixes off the left-arm spinner and Mayers was caught at long-off by Hooda, West Indies were left at 82/5 after nine overs. Hooda then grabbed a well-timed catch close to the ropes.

But West Indies did not really fight back. Before Jason Holder was early into a shot off Arshdeep and was caught by Samson who rushed in from a deep point, Shimron Hetmyer and Jason Holder both scored a couple of goals. Arshdeep only allowed one run off that over, while Ravi Bishnoi, who took over for R Ashwin, only allowed two runs off his third over. As a result, the necessary rate increased to 12.5. After struggling to get going, Akeal Hosein ultimately gave up for a 10-ball 3, giving Suryakumar a long-on catch. Hetmyer hit consecutive Bishnoi pitches for fours and sixes, but the wrist spinner eventually bowled him for 19 runs off four balls to end with 2 for 27.

Brief scores: India 191/5 in 20 overs (Rishabh Pant 44, Rohit Sharma 33; Alzarri Joseph 2-29) beat West Indies 132 in 19.1 overs (Nicholas Pooran 24, Arshdeep Singh 3-12, Avesh Khan 2-17) by 59 runs.
