Ishan Kishan becomes 7th Player in the history of ODI cricket to score a double century

Take Bow, Mumbai Indian wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan slammed Bangladesh bowlers apart as he scores the first double century of his international ODI career. Ishan Kishan magnificently scored 210 runs in 131 balls. In this process, he hit 24 fours and 10 sixes. He also maintained a strike rate of 164.31.

Fouth Indian to score a double century after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Rohit Sharma, So now Ishan Kishan registered his name in this list of elite players.

Ishan was never India’s starting XI’s first-choice player. The teenager seized the chance to stake a claim for a spot in the 2023 ODI World Cup when regular skipper Rohit Sharma suffered a thumb injury in the second ODI that prevented him from playing in the third game.

Ishan Kishan’s innings also broke Chris Gayle’s record for the quickest double century in men’s ODI history, which came off 138 balls. The Indian needed just 126 balls to reach his double tonne.

India was given the opportunity to bat first but lost opener Shikhar Dhawan early on for just 3 off 8. Ishan then impressively teamed up with former captain Virat Kohli to put up a 290 run stand for the second wicket.

Ishan blazed his way to the double century, reaching the enormous amount in just 126 balls, while Kohli posted his 65th half-century score and first in eight ODI innings.

The left-hander eventually was out after 131 balls for 210, ending with India’s third-highest individual score in this format. When he appeared poised to surpass a couple more days’ benchmarks, he was out in the 36th over.
