Deepak Chahar Out of T20 World Cup 2022, Shardul Thakur Likely to Replace Him in Reserves

Deepak Chahar Ruled Out of T20 World Cup 2022: Team India’s injury woes continue as the Men in Blue have taken another body blow. Due to an injury, Deepak Chahar is going to miss the T20 World Cup in 2022, and Shardul Thakur will probably take his spot on India’s reserve list of players.

What’s Next?

Things have only gotten worse for the Indian team with Deepak Chahar being ruled out of the forthcoming important event. On top of numerous major players being missing due to injuries. Chahar was previously seen to be the most ideal alternative for Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a back ailment. India will no longer be able to take use of another potent bowling option for the forthcoming international tournament in Australia since Deepak Chahar will also not be traveling to Australia.

He has been sidelined for a protracted period of time due to a back issue. Chahar was forced to skip the IPL in 2022 for the same reason. The bowling all-rounder will be hoping to get better quickly so he can return to India directly after the ICC event.

According to the most recent reports, Mohammed Shami is in the driver’s seat to replace Jasprit Bumrah in the main roster because the pacer will miss the major event due to injury. Mohammed Shami, Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravi Bishnoi were the players on India’s reserve list for the T20 World Cup 2022.

UK Tour

Prior to the T20 WC, India played a lot of white-ball cricket, and following the SA series, the Hardik Pandya-led team visited Ireland and then England. Chahar was excluded from all of the series. After the Ireland T20Is, Rohit Sharma replaced Hardik as captain.

Caribbean Tour

Deepak Chahar wasn’t a part of the Men in Blue series, which took flights from the UK to the West Indies. He returned for the Zimbabwean trip and was also selected for the Asia Cup team.

South Africa ODIs

Chahar’s absence from the starting lineup for the first ODI against South Africa caught the fans off guard. Chahar has been ruled out of the match due to a stiff back, the BCCI later announced.

World T20 Cup

Chahar was included on the list of T20 World Cup standby players for the second consecutive year. Due to a back problem, he will not be traveling to Australia. And all of his prospects of taking the place of Jasprit Bumrah have been destroyed. Chahar, a true wicket-taker with the new ball, may have given the Men in Blue an advantage in the competition.

Currently in Perth, The Men in Blue are getting ready for the next challenge. They play Australia and New Zealand in two exhibition games. Their crucial opening match is against arch-rivals Pakistan at Melbourne on October 23.
