Top 5 Finishers to watch out for: ICC T20 World Cup

Australia is set to host T20 world cup in October 2022. This will be the eighth edition of the T20 tournament. Australia will go into the contest as the defending Champions at their home ground. As they lifted the Cup last year in the United Arab Emirates.

The back-to-back qualifying round of the T20 world will start on the 16th of October 22. The Super 12 will kick off on October 22.

In this, we will talk about the Top 5 finishers who will be on the show in the T20 world cup 2022.

Tim David

It is scary to think that Australia has strengthened their batting lineup by adding Tim David to their already strong batting lineup that won the T20 WC last year, chasing big totals against Pakistan in the Semi-Final and New Zealand in the Final. Tim David is on the squad and possibly in the lineup at the expense of Steve Smith or Marcus Stonis. He has already made his mark as the destructive T20 batter in the world by playing around the franchise leagues and bagging millions in IPL with MI. Tim David has already played 127 T20 matches, wherein he averages 31 at a strike rate of 163. When it comes to death overs hitting it reaches up to 200.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik is one of the most aggressive batsmen in Indian Cricket and a hard finisher, coming at number five. The allrounder revived at IPL matches and struggled with the bat in 2021. Hardik had an amazing IPL 2022 with a bat for Gujrat Titans. He scored 487 runs in 15 games at an average of 44.27 and a strike rate of 131.27. He also gave a good kickstart to 2022 with Team India. Where he scored 217 runs in 8 innings with an average of 43.40 and a strike rate of 149.65. After MS Dhoni Pandya seems to fill a little gap at no 5 with his skills, But the best finisher of the side was Dhoni who finished the match with an ease every time.

Liam Living Stone

England star Liam Livingstone has taken on the world by storm since last year’s home summer where he recorded England’s fastest T20I century in 40 balls. Livingstone, who will command England’s Death over in this year’s T20 WC. Has a well has experience of 200 T20 matches. He finally rocked the IPL this year with about 437 runs at a strike rate of 182. Also, command England’s Death over in this year’s T20 WC.

David Miller

David Miller had perhaps his best IPL season this year, scoring 481 runs in the T20 format helping Gujrat Titans win the title. With a vast experience of 400 matches. Miller averages 44 with a strike rate of 152 in 26 matches. David miller is going to be a force this year’s T20 World cup.

Glenn Maxwell

Maxwell’s numbers are his reputation. 366 T20 matches the average of 28 and a strike rate of 151. The most popular player on the auction for IPL franchises. He always made the owners spend big bucks on him despite his underperformance. The skipper of Melbourne Stars, Glenn Maxwell, is amongst the finest T20 players in the world. This year in death overs maxwell smashed runs at the strike rate of 233.

Also, Bhanuka Rajapaksa is a bonus player as he is a hard-hitting left middle-order of Sri Lanka. It is seen in several matches that if he is in the middle overs, he will play natural cricket but when he is in the death overs, he is a hard-hitting batsman in the format. But Bhanuka’s playing style doesn’t give a guarantee of his consistent aggressive performance. When talking about his performance he played 27 matches and scored 541 runs, having an average of 22.4 with a decent strike rate of 139.43. Sri Lanka will look forward to his performance at the sharp edge matches in the Tournament.

In this home World cup season, The Host has a deadly pair of Maxwell- David which gives a massive boost. Good Luck to the bowlers who will bowl the duo.
