COVID-19 Hits Afghanistan Camp Ahead Of Bangladesh Series

According to the recent updates, many personnel of the Afghanistan camp, along with multiple players, have contracted COVID. Bangladesh will host the Afghan side in 3 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 2 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) commencing February 23. Here are Afghanistan vs Bangladesh series Updates.

Unfortunately, there are reportedly rising COVID instances over the series’ prospects. The Afghanistan team, which is presently preparing in Sylhet, has been requested to go into isolation for 48 hours, which finishes on February 16, Wednesday.

Furthermore, the Afghanistan team has been in Sylhet since February 12 on its own. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has offered assistance to the visiting group despite the fact that the trip has yet to begin formally. For the uninitiated, the visiting team will be formally executed over by the BCB on February 19.

If the symptoms are mild then they will be isolated: BCB official

”Look how they are not under our protocol considering the series will start from February 19 but now whatever support they will want now we will provide that,” said by BCB official.

”If the symptoms are mild then they will be isolated and if that is not the case we will have to transfer them to hospital but at the moment they are looking after their own well-being,” the official added.

However, people who have become infected with the virus will be tested again in 5 to 7 days. If they report having negative results, they can undergo preparation with the rest of the group. The visiting team will arrive in Chattogram on February 19 for the ODI series, which begins on February 23. The teams will next fly to Dhaka for 2 Twenty20 Internationals on March 3 and 5.
