Brathwaite was returning to play for the Caribbean premier league where he was tested for COVID-19 and tested negative. The flight was from the UK to St. Kitts and Nevis. Meanwhile, few passengers on the flight were tested positive and according to the regulations he was asked to isolate for few days.

I haven’t actually received anything official yet: Brathwaite

“My tests have been negative as far as I know. We’ve been asked to be in quarantine. I still don’t know the full extent of it. I’ve just been told I need to continue to quarantine as opposed to being allowed to walk around the hotel as was initially allowed. So I’m just as much in the dark as you are, unfortunately” he said in an Interaction.

Brathwaite plays for Jamaica Tallawahs’ and he is not sure if he’ll play for the opening match of the league. He explained about his fitness routines which he’s following in his quarantine room and wishes to be fit when the match will be played.

“I haven’t actually received anything official yet to know when day one is and how many days of quarantine, etc. So yeah, I’m just skipping in my room and doing sit-ups and hoping to be at least physically ready to go if I can.” Brathwaite added.

Jamaica Tallawahs had a great season last year but they couldn’t win the trophy after getting knocked out of the tournament. Brathwaite is retained by Tallawahs with Andre Russell. Brathwaite is confident about the new season and he thinks Trinbago Knight Riders won’t have an easy run this year around.

“The tournament is going to be interesting,” Brathwaite said. “I don’t think it will be an undefeated run to the finals as Trinidad had last year. I think it will be a little closer. I think all the teams are more evenly matched.”

Caribbean premier league starts from 26th August 2021 where Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on Trinbago Knight Riders.
