Caribbean Premier League 2023

The eleventh edition of the Caribbean Premier League is just a few hours away to once again mesmerize cricket lovers all around the world.  

The Caribbean Premier League 2023 will consist of 34 matches, beginning on August 16 (August 17 as per IST) and concluding on September 24 (September 25 as per IST).  

Five venues have been decided to host the 2023 Caribbean Premier League including the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Warner Park, Kensington Oval, Queen’s Park Oval, Providence Stadium.  

Each team will compete against each other twice in this double round robin format, with the top four teams will then qualify for the playoffs.  

The 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League was won by Jamaica Tallawahs after defeating the Barbados Royals by eight wickets.  

How many teams are participating in Caribbean Premier League 2023? 

Six teams, including Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders are taking part in the Caribbean Premier League 2023. 

What is the format of Caribbean Premier League 2023?  

The six teams will compete in a double round-robin format for a total of 34 matches.  

The top four teams among six after the 30 games of contest will find a way to the playoffs. The top two teams will play the qualifier 1 and much like the IPL (Indian Premier League), the third and fourth finished teams will play the eliminator game.  

The team who won the qualifier 1 will directly qualify for the finals on September 24, while the losing side will get another chance to reach the finals in the form of qualifier 2.  

Losing team in the eliminator game will be out from the league, with the winner will play the qualifier 2 game in order to reach the finals.
