AUS vs SA Highlight update: Can Australia qualify for the semi-finals after two defeats in a row? The game of cricket is getting much more interesting with each game passing by. Today it was South Africa who completely dominated the five-time world champions Australia. Australia after winning the toss chose to bat and were in trouble from the get-go.

It was Quinton de Kock the South African wicketkeeper who started the party. Both De Kock and skipper Bavuma formed a good opening partnership of 108 runs which gave the South African team a much-needed start.

AUS vs SA: Australia is Once again in deep deep trouble

After deciding to bowl first Australia where yet again in confusion as the South African attack kept pressure on. Starc and Maxwell were the only two who picked up double wickets. While Zampa, Cummins, and Hazlewood all three picked up one wicket each.

Australia felt like they were missing a star bowler who could pick up three quick wickets, but Australia failed to learn from the mistakes that led to South Africa posting a huge total.

After losing the first game to India, Australia was desperate to win this second match but with a mountain to chase Australia was under full pressure. You know what Pressure can do to any team and this time it was Australia who was the victim.

Australia yet again Struggle with the bat

Australia lost their first wicket in the form of Mitchell Marsh in the fifth over of the second innings. Then it was a matter of time before star batsmen like David Warner, Steven Smith, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis all were dismissed for less than 20 runs.

While Marnus Labuschagne was the alone batter who carried the Australia innings until the end. He played a wonderful cricket which showed his composure in playing the right shorts at the right time. Aussies skipper Pat Cummins also tried his best at the end but could only score 22 runs.

Wickets were falling at one end but Labuschangne tried his best to carry the innings and unfortunately, his composed innings came to an end after scoring 46 runs from 74 balls. Earlier losses to India and now losing to South Africa by huge margins created much more added pressure due to the low net run rate.

Rabada Shines with the Ball

Kagiso Rabada was the star man for South Africa with the ball as the pacer picked up three wickets in his 8 over spell and conceded only 33 runs. Marco Jansen, Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj also contributed with two wickets each.

While Lungi Ngidi picked up one wicket. This brave bowling performance made sure Australia where all out under 177 runs inside 40.5 overs.

South Africa with Hattrick of Wins in this WC2023 and Can Australia Bounce Back

Now with two back-to-back losses, Australia is in bib big trouble of getting knocked out in the group stages of this ICC ODI World Cup 2023. With still seven games remaining Australia must win all their games to qualify for the semies, while a couple of losses can surely knock them out.

South Africa on the flip side is on a hattrick of wins, which makes them sit in the first place of the points table. They are now just a few wins away from registering their Semi-final ticket.
