Pakistan registered a win against the arch-rivals India after securing a 5-wicket win in the second match of Super Four stage of Asia Cup on Sunday.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar leaked 19 runs in the penultimate over that put Pakistan on driver’s seat. Arshdeep Singh tried his best to defend 7 off the final over by removing dangerous Asif Ali with his brilliant Yorker, but it was not enough to prevent Pakistan from winning.

Earlier, Virat Kohli impressed with the bat as India recorded a decent score of 181 for seven against Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup Super-Four match.

Invited to bat first, India started their campaign on a spectacular note, with both of their openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul took the aerial route from the first over itself and added 54 in just 5 overs.

However, India lost an array a wickets, which slowed down their momentum in the middle overs.

Rohit Sharma walked back after scoring 28 of 16, KL Rahul scored 28 off 20, while India’s top-ranked batter in T20Is recorded just 13 today.

However, the former captain continued to play his natural game from one end and displayed indications of regaining his form by completing his second consecutive fifty in the Asia Cup 2022.

With four boundaries and a six, Kohli produced a magnificent 60 in just 44 balls. Kohli hit a six over deep midwicket to reach the 50-run milestone. He was ultimately run out following a direct hit from deep by Asif Ali.

India concluded their innings on a high note thanks to Ravi Bishnoi’s two crucial boundaries that was possible due to some assistance from Fakhar Zaman.

Chasing a target of 182, Pakistan faced a big setback when they lost their skipper Babar Azam in the fourth over of the innings.

Rizwan Khan and Fakhar Zaman then tried to steady their boat but adding 41 for the second wicket before the latter got out.

Mohammad Nawaz, who walked in to bat at no.4, soaked the pressure and put his side back on track with his destructive knock of 42 off just 20 balls before the veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed him.

While Rizwan completed another half-century in the tournament.

With 46 more needed in 27 balls and 7 wickets in hand, Pakistan were looking set for a win, but Hardik then turned the table by dismissing the well-set batter Rizwan Khan for 71.

India were on top after 18 overs game, with Pakistan still required 26 in 12, but a 19-run over penultimate over by Bhuvneshwar changed the whole scenario into Pakistan’s favour as the men in green defeated team India.
