The consolation game of Asia Cup 2022, where India and Afghanistan meet to decide which team will end up at the last spot of Super 4 is ongoing.
It is Afghanistan who won the toss and elected to field first. Bringing India to bat where we saw change in openers and an unexpected omission of Rohit Sharma the captain. There is also inclusion of Ashwin, Deepak Chahar and Dinesh Karthik in the team. India has scored 212 runs in the first innings without loss of any wicket.
During the death overs, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant utilized the opportunity so well that it gave everything India had wanted for the past 2 years. We finally saw a century from King Kohli, and it was everything. Emotional and peaceful at the same time. The duo scored . The batting managed/couldn’t manage to hit more boundaries.
In the last five overs, India managed to score 72 runs for the loss of no wickets. The highest partnership of the innings was between KL Rahul and Virat Kohli who contributed 119 runs to the innings.
Fareed Ahmad bowled the 17th over of the game and it was all India singing songs.No wickets came in this over but conceded 15 runs. A total of 15 runs came off the 18th over of the innings bowled by Farooqi.
The 19th over of the innings was bowled by Fareed Ahmad who couldn’t keep things tight, conceding 19 runs and KOHLI finally scored century number 71. The 20th over of the innings was bowled by Fazal Farooqi and it was an expensive one. India batsmen hit 4 fours and 2 sixes to ensure 18 runs came off the over.
The run rate at the end of 20th over is 10.6. Virat Kohli scored highest number of runs 122 by hitting 6 sixes and 12 fours at a strike rate of 200.
