ASIA CUP 2022 SUPER 4: INDIA VS SRI LANKA Who Will Win?

India will square up against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2022 Super-4 stage. The team captained by Rohit Sharma lost their first Super-4 game against Pakistan and is attempting a comeback. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan and now leads the Super-4 stage.

In 2022, India has not lost any T20Is vs Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue will also try to rebound by putting on a strong showing with both bat and ball. A couple bad shots against Pakistan slowed India’s momentum in the previous game. Bowling was also somewhat coloured due to run leaks. India will look to put on a convincing performance against the Lankans and earn their first Super-4 victory.

Dasun Shanaka’s team, on the other hand, has won two games in a row. On both instances, they chased a total of more than 175 points. Their batting has improved, thanks to the efforts of Rajapaksa, Kusal Mendis, and Gunathilaka. It is now simply a matter of maintaining the same momentum.

The Asia Cup has always been the contest of the unexpected. In the past, India won when other teams were stronger, this time too, things are looking to excite us.

Virat Kohli has gotten his form back and it looks like it is the only good thing considering last game’s performance. India’s bowling is showing its weakest form in a couple of years. The batters are performing yet they are not able to convert on those starts. India needs to amp up their game against Srilanka who will be looking to continue momentum from the last game.

INDIA VS SRILANKA: How the pitch will play?

The game will take place at Dubai International Stadium. The pitch here is fairly even and offers both bowlers and batters a significant amount of help. Because of its sluggish nature, spinners have good traction. The average score is 140. But we can expect teams to at least score 160+.

What to expect in the middle?

The way India is batting, they look very keen to adopt the new aggressive approach. Their start is good so we can expect a score of 50-60 in the first 6 overs. In death overa we can expect 35 runs but an overall score of 170ish.

Srilanka has the ability to build innings that is true to T20s. If there is contribution from all batters like in the last match, we can expect the powerplay score to be 40-50, death overs to be 30-40 and an overall score of 170ish.

Players to Watch out for:

Anything can happen in T20s and we are already watching the unexpected. But there are few players who look promising or raise hope. In the next match, for India, all eyes should be on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. In bowling, we can look forward to Chahal and Bishnoi

For Srilanka, we should keep our eyes on Pathum Nissanka, Bhanuka Rajaspaksa, Wanindu Hasaranga, Theekshana and Dasun Shanaka.

INDIA VS SRILANKA Probable Playing XI:

IND: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh

SL: Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka, Gunathilaka, Dasun Shanaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Theekshana, Asitha Fernando, Dilshan Madushanka

IND Vs SL Who Will Win?

Well one team is coming after suffering a loss while the other won the game so neatly that their confidence will be high. Srilanka this time looks like a hurt lion. Hurt because the others in the jungle are not giving them the respect they deserve. And their performance in the last match is a roar to make everyone aware of their presence. India is the Elephant, everyone knows they are big, but they are vegetarians, thus not showing enough intent to hunt. But both Lion and Elephant have their own strengths. We have seen both teams clashing and India was victorious in all of 2022. We expect India to win but are also expecting the unexpected. Fingers crossed.
