MVPs Between 1-3 Crores in IPL 2023: It was the big names that dominated the IPL 2023 mini auctions. 3 players fetched salaries of more than INR 15 crores. But there were many players who were bought at a steal. These players add a lot of value to the squad. Teams build their squad around such players who bring utility to the side. It is common knowledge that the presence of players in the salary bracket of INR 1-3 crores is essential for the team’s functioning.

We look at 10 such MVPs between 1-3 crores in IPL 2023:

#10 Devon Conway – 1.00 crore

He is one of the most consistent top-order batters in world cricket. Devon Conway keeps wickets for New Zealand. A player like Conway allows a side to play an extra player in the specialist’s role. He is certainly a steal at his price of INR 1 crore.

#9 Umesh Yadav – 2.00 crores

He had a fantastic IPL 2022 wherein he was the most impressive bowler with the new ball. Umesh Yadav’s opening bursts kept KKR in the game even in tough situations. Yadav can deliver a few lusty blows in the end overs. His price tag of INR 2 crores is sure MVP material. 

#8 Shahbaz Ahmed – 2.40 crores 

He was the link between the middle order and the lower order for RCB last season. Shahbaz Ahmed came of age as a player in IPL 2022. His timely wickets helped RCB to pull off heists. He was one of RCB’s underrated contributors last season.

#7 Adil Rashid – 2.00 crores

The Sunrisers Hyderabad dearly needed a specialist spinner in the mini-auction. They got hold of one of the best in the business in Adil Rashid. The English wrist spinner has been a proven match-winner. He was a big steal for SRH at just INR 2 crores.

#6 Tilak Varma – 1.70 crores

There was a lot of buzz surrounding Tilak Varma last season. The Mumbai Indians managed to bag him for INR 1.70 crores in the mega auction. Tilak Varma lived up to the hype delivering the goods more often than not.

#5 Reece Topley – 1.90 crores

Jason Behrendorff’s trade to MI meant RCB was looking for a left-arm seamer in the auction. To their surprise, they managed to buy Reece Topley at just INR 1.90 crores. Topley is arguably a better T20 bowler as compared to Behrendorff.

#4 Glenn Phillips – 1.50 crores

He showcased his ability on the world’s biggest stage in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Glenn Phillips is one of the rare multi-dimensional cricketers. He can open, bat in the middle, finish an innings, keep, and bowl handy off-spin too. SRH managed a fantastic bargain buying him for just INR 1.5 crores. 

#3 Adam Zampa – 1.50 crores

He was the bowler of the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE. Adam Zampa continues to weave his magic across conditions. The Rajasthan Royals managed a brilliant deal signing him for just INR 1.5 crores.

#2 Aiden Markram – 2.60 crores

He was one of SRH’s biggest shining knights last season. Aiden Markram is a versatile batter who could adapt to different roles. He is part of the leadership group. Markram can bowl a few overs of accurate off-spin too. SRH once again managed to buy someone at a terrific bargain of just INR 2.60 crores.

#1 Kuldeep Yadav – 2.00 crores

His former IPL team, KKR had completely lost trust in him. Kuldeep Yadav switched to the Delhi Capitals in 2022 in the mega auction. He was bought for just INR 2 crores. Yadav went on to become the only player to win 4 POTM last season vindicating Delhi’s faith.
