From Renegades, the player in form, Atapatthu yet again put up a stupendous show. She saved yet another day for the Renegades. Apart from her and Hayley Matthews, none of the batters showed any intent. The problem for MR continued even in this match. Their batting flunked. After single-digit scores from Sophie and Dooley, only Webb scored 18 runs but off 20 balls. It was a flop show from everyone apart from Atapatthu.
Maisy Gibson from Hobart was the key bowler who took 4 wickets. Carey took 1 wicket. Other than then, none of the bowlers took wickets. But the bowling was extremely economical and put pressure on Renegades at right time to go for big hits.

It was a team effort from Hobart Hurricane during the chase. The target that seemed very easy was still a difficult for Hurricane Women to chase. The openers did score in double digits but the innings by both was not impactful. Later Heather Graham came and took her team to win the match along with Ruth Johnston. Ruth scored 15 off 6 that powered Graham’s 39 off 26 balls.
Sophie Molineux took highest wickets for Renegades. But she gave away a lot of runs. She bowled at an economy of 9.78. Other 4 bowlers shared 4 wickets within them equally.
Melbourne Renegades are at the bottom of the table while Hobart Hurricane are at 5th position. This was Melbourne’s 6th consecutive loss at the tournament.
