Australia vs India: The hosts are set to don a historic theme against the Blues

Australia will begin their home international cricket summer by playing a host to team India. And following their usual ritual, Aussies will be wearing a new-themed jersey against India in the T20s. Cricket Australia (CA) revealed their unseen jersey on Wednesday, November 11. The newly launched jersey soon became the talk of the town, credits to its unique design. However, there is more behind the uncommon pattern which speaks about Australia’s glorious cricketing heritage.

Cricket Australia’s official Twitter account explained the mind behind the distinctive look. The jersey which goes by the name “Indigenous” pays tribute to Australia’s first overseas tour which was conducted in 1868. The jersey is designed by Aunty Fiona Clarke & Courtney Hagen which tells the story of Aboriginal cricketers who made a three-month journey from Australia to the UK by sea and played a total of 47 games in the entire tour.
