First Innings Update: SL vs IRE T20 World Cup 2022

SL vs IRE T20 World Cup:Ireland struggled to score runs, and Sri Lanka was on top of their bowling. Ireland lost two early wickets and in the death overs also couldn’t manage to score huge at the end of the innings.

Sri Lanka did a great job in the bowling department, now they have to the chasing with calm minds in order to win the chase target comfortably.

First Innings 

After the completion of 20 overs of the 15th match of the T20 World Cup 2022, Ireland’s total is 128. In the first innings, Ireland managed to score 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

In the last 10 overs, Harry Tector and George Dockrell did not utilize the opportunity, conceding just 68 runs. The batting team couldn’t manage to hit more number of boundaries.

Highest Partnership

During the death overs, Ireland was able to score XX runs for the loss of 4 wickets. The highest partnership of the innings was between Harry Tector and George Dockrell who contributed 47 runs to the innings.

M Theekshana bowled the 17th over of the game and was successful in pulling off a much-needed wicket. one wicket came in this over. A total of 9 runs and a wicket came off the 18th over of the innings bowled by Binura Fernando.

Last Two overs 

The 19th over of the innings was bowled by Hasaranga who kept things tight, conceding just 3 runs and picking up 2 wickets. The 20th over of the innings was bowled by Binura Fernando and it was a decent one. Ireland’s batsmen hit one four to ensure 8 runs came off the final over.

The run rate at the end of the 20th over is 6.4. Harry Tector scored the highest number of runs by hitting one sixes and two fours at a strike rate of 107.14.

Sri Lanka’s on the chase  

Sri Lanka now needs 129 runs from 20 overs to win their first match of the super 12 round in the T20 World Cup.
