South Africa lost momentum after Iyer and Ishan Kishan’s 161-run partnership for the second wicket, from 155 balls made thing easy for India to chase down the target. However, Kishan was unable to record his first international century in his hometown when he fell at 93 off 84 balls.

South Africa’s Innings

After winning the toss South Africa decided to bat first and rapidly reached 278 for seven in 50 overs because of some outstanding batting from Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks.

Siraj’s second dismissal of Hendricks for 75 provided India with the much-needed comeback. Nine fours and a six from Hendricks’ comeback inning helped South Africa set a manageable defensible objective.
