A series to remember for South Africa ended in their favour as they registered a 90-run win over England in the third and final T20 to secure the series by 2-1 at the Rose Bowl in Southampthan on Sunday.

With the joint efforts of batters, the visitors first managed to post a mammoth 191 in 20 overs and then their bowlers took the charge and restricted the English side for just 101 to claim a victory by big margin.

Earlier, England proved their decision right by removing Quinton de Kock on duck after inviting the visitors to bat first. However, then the Proteas batters turned the table towards their side and scored quick runs.

The opener Reeza Hendricks played a 70-run knock of just 50 balls to set a platform. While the one-down batter Rilie Rossouw also contributed well with a quick fire 18-ball 31.

Aiden Markram remained unbeaten with 51 off 36 and the skipper Miller did his work for what he known for. He smashed 21 off just 9 to provide team the finishing touch. With the joints efforts of main batters South Africa posted 191 for 5 in their 20-over quota.

After getting off to a steady start in the chase, England was unable to recover after losing their captain with the score at 28. Despite showing some signs of resistance, Bairstow was unable to accomplish much on his own, with the lack of support from other end he also got out in hurry.

Both all-rounder and the finisher of England failed miserably in the run-chase as a result the English side bowled out for 101.

Shamsi was the pick of the bowler for South Africa, who ended his spell with 4-24-5.

Apart from him Keshav Maharaj took the two important wickets of Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow. While Nortje, Phehlukwayo and Markram took a wicket each.

Tabraiz Shamsi, who broke the back of the hosts by taking up fifer in the decider match was awarded with the player of the match award.

South Africa’s opening batter Reeza Hendricks, who scored the maximum runs in the series with 180 in 3 games at a strike rate of 156.52 grabbed the player of the series award.
