After playing a drug addict in Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor was roped into his next flick titled  Jersey. He is all set to play the role of a cricketer. He, therefore, started cricket training for Jersey. It is a remake film of the Tollywood super-hit where hero Nani played the protagonist.

The latest click of Shahid as a cricketer went viral on social media in which he is seen wearing a headband with a bat in his hand. As per reports, he is taking regular practice sessions in order to showcase his talent to his fans on the big screen.

Taran Adarsh, famous Indian critic shared a picture of Shahid and tweeted, “Shahid Kapoor begins prep for the role of a cricketer in the #Hindi remake of #Telugu film #Jersey… The #Hindi version will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original #Telugu version, starring Nani… 28 Aug 2020 release.”

Shahid Kapoor wanted to play an appropriate role after Kabir Singh. In search of that, it was the role in Jersey that impressed him a lot. He was sure that he wanted to play it on a 70 mm screen for his fans.

Shahid said, “It took me some time to decide what to do next after “Kabir Singh”. But the minute I saw “Jersey”, I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderfully inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply.”

Gowtam Tinnanuri is going to direct this remake of Jersey, who steered its Telugu version starring Nani. The story of the movie revolves around a player named Arjun, and his dream to play for Team India. But due to some circumstances in his personal life, he gets sidelined from the game for more than 10 years. Later on, at the age of 36, he marks his return and overcomes all the obstacles in his path.

Jersey movie starring Shahid Kapoor is expected to release on August 28, 2020. Its Telugu version of the movie raked in a worldwide collection of Rs. 48 Cr.
