Samuel Matthew Curran, popularly known as Sam Curran was born in Northampton, Northampton shire, England on 3 June 1998. Sam Curran is an English left-arm medium-fast bowler and the left-hand batter who has been a part of the England team consistently for the past 2-3 years. However, he has not been a part of any match since 2021 due to his injury. Sam Curran was raised in Zimbabwe but later moved to England. He is often seen as the future of English cricket as he is an effective bowler as well as an excellent lower-middle order batter. Sam Curran has played in the Indian Premier League in 2019 for Kings XI Punjab and then for Chennai Super Kings in seasons 2020 and 2021. He didn’t take part in the mega auction of TATA IPL 2022 due to an injury.

Sam Curran started off his domestic career in 2014 when he was picked up to play for Surrey Cricket Club. He was also termed as the best cricketer at the age of 17 years by his coaches and team mates.

At the age of just 17 years in 2015, Sam Curran made his T20 Debut for Surry in NatWest Blast in a match against Kent.

On 13th July 2015, Sam Curran played his maiden first-class match in the County Championship against Kent and took 5-wicket haul in his debut innings.

Sam Curran became the youngest bowler to take a 5-wicket haul in a first class debut innings.

Few Days later, Sam Curran made his List A debut against Northamptonshire in Royal London One-day match.

In 2016, Sam Curran was picked in the squad of England for the Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup. Sam scored 201 runs in 6 matches and also took 7 wickets in the tournament. He was also picked up in the squad of England Lions to play a series against South Africa A.

Few days later in the same month, Sam Curran made his ODI debut in a match against Australia where he picked 1 wicket in the match.
