After signing a sponsorship contract with Puma Cricket, Zimbabwe player Ryan Burl can fall into big legal trouble. The all-rounder uploaded a photo of his torn shoes on Twitter a few days ago. He also requested funding for his national team so that the players would not have to repair their shoes after each series. Puma Cricket gave him a sponsorship agreement within 24 hours of his request being heard.Ryan Burl could face punishment over his sponsor-seeking tweet.

While the cricket world was happy to see Puma helping Burl, the entire affair is said to have upset the Zimbabwe Cricket Board. The cricket governing body is unhappy with Burl’s social media request since it affects the organization’s reputation. Furthermore, the batsman might face disciplinary punishment as a result of this event, since board authorities are considering taking action against him.

The Board Members may punish ‘Ryan Ponsonby Burl’ for his help-seeking tweet

According to journalist Adam Theo’s tweets, Ryan Burl could face punishment over his sponsor-seeking tweet .the board members may punish the all-rounder. “I’m told that certain members high up in Zimbabwe Cricket are angry at Ryan Burl’s plea for sponsorship help as it “reflects badly on the organization. I’m also told that the same members want disciplinary action to be enforced. This would be a terrible move by Zim Cricket,” wrote Theo in a tweet.

“Knowing how ZC works, this won’t be public disciplinary action but rather behind the doors nonsense. Don’t be surprised to see team selection omissions and similar techniques used. Hope I’m wrong,” he added.

Burl, performances aren’t very impressive, yet to improve his game with time.

Burl, on the other hand, has recently been a member of Zimbabwe’s squad in various formats. In the middle order, the southpaw is an aggressive batsman who can also contribute with his leg-breaks. He has scored 660 runs and taken 18 wickets in three Tests, 15 ODIs, and 25 T20Is. Although these figures aren’t very impressive, the 27-year-old hopes to improve his game with time.

In August, Zimbabwe will go to Ireland for three One-Day Internationals and as many Twenty-20 Internationals. In their most recent assignment, the team struggled against Pakistan, losing the Test series 0-2 and then losing the T20I series 1-2. However, they would be motivated to outperform Ireland.
