Virat Kohli praised Rohit Sharma And Rahul Dravid

Even though Dravid takes over as India’s head coach just after the 2021 T20 World Cup, Nagpur-born Sharma has replaced Kohli as Team India’s limited-overs captain. Reports of a split among Kohli and Rohit have recently emerged. Meanwhile, the 33-year-old Kohli denied the rumours and stated that he will defend Rohit.

Virat lauded Rohit for his leadership qualities with accuracy at both the international and Indian Premier League stages. It’s important to note that Sharma is perhaps the most accomplished IPL captain in history, having guided the Mumbai Indians to 5 victories.

My responsibility is obviously to push the team in the right direction: Kohli

“My responsibility is obviously to push the team in the right direction, something that I wanted to do even before I became captain. That mindset will never change. Rohit is a very able captain, a very tactically sound captain. We have seen that in the games for India and in the IPL as well,” said Kohli.

Kohli will now captain India in 3-match Test series versus South Africa, which begins on December 26 at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Meanwhile, Rohit has been pulled out of the series owing to a hamstring injury.
