Prithvi Shaw lacks consistency-Former Pakistani player Salman Butt recently voiced his opinion about Prithvi Shaw’s risk-taking abilities which can cost him his spot in the ICC T20 World Cup squad. Butt stated that Shaw takes plenty of risks, resulting in losing his wicket on regular intervals. Butt, however, admitted the fact that Shaw is experiencing a solid form this year.

Salman Butt‘s two cents on Prithvi Shaw

Shaw started the year 2021 brilliantly as he dominated the domestic formats as well in the IPL. Shaw scored a total of 228 runs for the Delhi Capitals with a strike rate of 166.48 this season. Nevertheless, Butt opined that India might go for safer openers like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan instead of a hot-head like Shaw.

“There is no dearth of talent in Prithvi Shaw and he has scored runs. But I still believe he is playing too many shots too early because of which he lacks consistency. Usually, they (India) go in with stable players, who are more dependable, and those who mould their game accordingly. So far, we have seen that Prithvi only plays one way. He plays his shots,” Butt said on his YouTube channel.

Prithvi Shaw lacks consistency-Prithvi Shaw will eventually find his place in India’s squad but he will have to fight for his place in the playing XI. 21-year-old Shaw proved his mettle in the recently conducted Indian Premier League but he will have to work on his consistency to make his way to the top.
