NED vs ENG: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has selected a 14-man One-Day International team to face the Netherlands in a memorable three-match series beginning on June 17 in Amstelveen. This will be the first time that pace bowler Luke Wood has been selected for an ODI roster. A One-Day International series will be played between the men’s teams from England and The Netherlands for the very first occasion.

David Payne, a pace bowler, was also added to the team after being chosen for the Pakistan One-Day Internationals during the previous summer but not playing in any of them. Sam Curran also makes his comeback to the white-ball setup after being out for a period of 6 months due to a stress fracture in his back. Both Brydon Carse and Phil Salt, who made their first-ever appearances in one-day internationals versus Pakistan last summer, have been restored to the team.

Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, David Willey, and Liam Livingstone will all be returning after their respective experiences in the Indian Premier League. Meanwhile, Jason Roy will make his comeback after skipping the IPL in order to feel a good time with his family.

“I’m very excited to be coaching a strong squad for my first series in charge. “We have tremendous depth with a blend of youth and experience. We want to continue to play in an expressive style and let our players showcase their skills and firepower”, said England’s white-ball head coach, Matthew Mott.

“This is a historic occasion for the sport and the first time England Men have played The Netherlands in an ODI series. We can’t wait to head over to Amsterdam and put on a show for the thousands of fans traveling to support the team” he said.

“The ODI side has had limited opportunities and last played in July. However, with about 18 months to the next ICC 50 over World Cup in India, our preparation will start ramping up with nine matches over the summer and a busy winter ahead against strong opponents”, he added.

The one-day international matches (ODIs) are scheduled to take place on June 17, 19, and 22 accordingly.
