SLK vs ABF Match Highlights: In a thrilling game here at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium the match was nothing short of exciting as the Saint Lucia Kings successfully defended 152 runs against a decent side Barbuda Falcons. The game was end-to-end where first the Saint Lucia Kings put a decent target but then it was Khary Pierre’s three wickets that destroyed the chances of the Barbuda Falcons in chasing a low total.
Earlier on in the day the Barbuda Falcons won the toss and decided to bowl first, where in came J Charles and Faf du Plessis who started the proceeding for Saint Lucia Kings. Even though Charles and Ackeem tried to accelerate the innings their innings were short-lived.
Barbuda Falcons skipper was on point with his performance as first he picked up four wickets with the ball then went on to contribute with the bat too. Even after wonderful performances from the Falcons, they were unable to chase the low target.

Wiese Finishing Knock Helps Saint Lucia to Go Past 150 Score
Ackeem Auguste and Charles started off well but were unable to convert it into big scores. Charles smashed 25 off 20 balls, while Ackeem scored 35 off 28 balls. However, it was Wiese fiery knock in the end that propelled the Saint Lucia King’s score to 152 runs in 20 overs. Wiese smashed a brilliant 43 of 26 balls, which included four sixes and one four.
The team fought hard to post a decent total, where even after a regular fall of wickets the Saint Lucia batsman made sure they had enough runs to defend. Chris Green was the highlight in the first innings as he took four wickets and Shamar Springer also played a crucial part by picking up three wickets.
Falcons Fail to Chase a Decent Target
With 152 to chase in 120 balls, the Falcons were confident in chasing down the target, however to their disappointment the wickets started to tumble and it felt like the Saint Lucia Kings were taking control of the game. Khary Pierre’s three wickets and Noor Ahmad’s two wickets were the crucial contributions in restricting the Falcons from chasing the target.
Even bowlers like Roston Chase and Alzari Joseph chipped in with one wicket each, which left the Falcons at 126/8 in overs and thus they lost the game by 26 runs. After his excellence with the ball early on in the innings Chris Green once again tried to carry his team but this time with the bat. He smashed 48 off 37 balls, which in the end was in vain as Saint Lucia Kings won this 17th CPL 2024 match.

After this win the Saint Lucia Kings jumped to second place with four wins from six games. Now with more four games to play for Saint Lucia Kings, they are poised to win all those and finish in first place. While for the Barbuda Falcons, they have two games remaining, and with just two wins in 8 games, they are definitely out of the race for the next stages. They will now have to win the remaining two games in order to save some pride.
