What should Babar Azam learn from Virat Kohli, Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam is struggling with his form and has unable to make an impact for his team for quite some time across all-formats.
Pakistan has failed to win any major ICC tournament under Babar Azam, and the worst was there exit from T20 World Cup 2024 after losing from USA and India during the first stage of the tournament.
Despite his promising performance initially in his career, the right-arm batter, has found it tough to keep up with the challenging cricket environment.

Speaking about Babar’s poor run, former Pakistan skipper Younis Khan stated that there are high expectations from Babar Azam, and he needs to work on his fitness and work ethic. Khan used Virat Kohli as an example of how he maintained himself after stepping down as captain.
“There are high expectations from Babar. He has achieved a lot at such a young age, but what he needs to know what he wants to achieve in the future. Captaincy is a small thing, performance is what matters.” said Younis Khan at a press event in Pakistan.

According to one of Pakistan’s most successful batters, Babar Azam should learn how to maintain to fitness and perform for the country without worrying about captaincy from Virat Kohli.
“Look at Virat Kohli. He chose to step down from captaincy on his own terms, and now he’s breaking records worldwide. This shows that playing for the country should be the priority. If there’s any energy left, then play for yourself.” said Younis Khan.

A Comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam is not appropriate, as Virat has been playing for the past 16 years and has achieved a lot to be considered a legend of the sport. While Babar Azam, who started with a promise to dominate, failed to capitalise, and has yet to deliver some serious match winning performances for his team.
