Colin De Grandhomme Alters Hairstyle Ahead Of The PAK Series

New Zealand cricketer, Colin de Grandhomme has gained national attention for his haircut rather than his cricketing abilities. He had long curls a few months ago, and his photographs went viral on social media. The images were used to create memes, and netizens thought them to be funny. De Grandhomme, on the other hand, has just made a complete turn.

He will play in the bilateral series versus Pakistan, which begins on 17th September. De Grandhomme altered his hairstyle before the series and appeared for the photographers to show off his new appearance. He hasn’t been in decent form recently, and it’ll be interesting to see if a change of haircut will help the 35-year-old turn things around.

De Grandhomme has previously been criticized by former New Zealand batsman Ian Smith for his recent poor form. The all-rounder only managed to score 18 runs from 5 games in the T20I series versus Bangladesh, a poor average of 3.60.

Furthermore, he only took one wicket in 3.4 overs at a 4.36 economy rate, indicating that he wasn’t given much responsibility with the ball. Smith claimed that he would have pulled De Grandhomme from the national team if he hadn’t made such contributions in the past.

Colin de Grandhomme is not going to win me a game: Smith

“He doesn’t bowl spin, he’s not scoring any runs; he’s a handy fieldsman we know that, but can I risk him on the fact that he will come off one time out of ten? I don’t think so,” Smith said.

“Every now and then, players are not suited to conditions and when they’re not playing well enough, you give them a spell [out of the XI]. If I think on that side, I’m probably thinking Colin de Grandhomme is not going to win me a game and that’s what you want to do in limited-overs cricket”.

“Those scores reflect he’s not doing that, so the all-round side of the game is negated by the fact that they don’t need his type of bowling in these conditions. I’d leave him out, to be brutally honest,” Smith added.
