Former India captain MS Dhoni was been named Team India’s mentor for the 2021 T20 World Cup. The keeper-batter will be spotted in India’s dressing room again nearly a year after his international retirement, which has sparked the interest of the cricket world and spectators. Here we discussed on Arun Dhumal opinion about Dhoni As Mentor For T20-WC.

Furthermore, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal has spoken out over Dhoni’s selection as Team India’s coach for the major tournament. The former India skipper has a wealth of knowledge and a track record of success when guiding the Men in Blue. As a result, the BCCI official remarked that having someone like him as a mentor is fantastic and that it is not intended to disrespect anyone.

Bringing Dhoni as Mentor doesn’t mean to undermine anybody: Arun Dhumal

“He (Dhoni) has been a great leader. Under his captaincy, India won the inaugural World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. The records are amazing. It is really great to have him as a mentor of the team (for the ICC World Cup). He has a good reputation and respect in the team, and also bringing him doesn’t mean to undermine anybody. They have also done a phenomenal job,” Dhumal said.

Virat Kohli has declared that he will stand down as India’s T20 captain following the next T20 World Cup. His decision prompted a range of comments from the cricketing community. When questioned if the BCCI played any influence in Kohli’s choice, Dhumal stated that it was entirely up to the captain’s decision.

“The board didn’t ask him to step down. It was absolutely his own decision. Why would we ask him to step down? He was doing a great job,” Dhumal added.

Last year, the mega-event was scheduled to take place in India. However, because of the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 outbreak, it was put on hold. It will now be shown in the UAE and Oman beginning on October 17th. The 4 locations for the games are Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

The tournament final is set for 14th November. India revealed their team for the high-profile tournament, with a few absences that surprised the cricketing world.
