Governing Body Would Convene A Meeting On The Review Next Week:

The Indian Premier League Governing Council has decided to hold a meeting next week to review ‘IPL ‘s different sponsorship deals, including the one with VIVO title sponsor. The decision comes in the wake of border clashes at the Galwan Valley earlier this week between India and China.

The BCCI collects annually from the telecom firm INR 440 Crore and has a five-year contract with them, negotiated in 2018 between the two parties. The meeting is known to have been called upon to determine whether to trigger the termination clause or uphold the deal until 2022.

BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal had previously told PTI that while Chinese sponsorship money (VIVO) helped the Indian economy, the board would always put the country first if a difficult decision had to be made.
Earlier the Indian Premier League ( IPL) 2020 was postponed until further notice by the Cricket Control Board in India ( BCCI). In a recent interaction with the media, BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly hinted at IPL being a truncated affair. Since then there has been lot of speculations on the same. In the meantime BCCI remains tight lipped about the venue and dates of the 13th edition of IPL 2020.
