#10 Mumbai Indians Performance In IPL 2022:

Five-time champions MI struggled in IPL 2022. Mumbai is blank after dropping 8 consecutive matches. Neither department of the team seemed impressive. After 8 straight losses, they staged a comeback, however, lost momentum. They lacked steadiness after several setbacks. MI has been the first franchise eliminated from IPL 2022 race. PBKS won its season opener under Mayank Agarwal’s captaincy. Fail to comply in later games, they survived with occasional bumps. Both batting and bowling departments were inconsistent with hot and cold appearances. Occasionally, Liam Livingstone has won games single-handedly for the team. They were 7th in the standings with 6 victories in 13 games. Even if they beat SRH in the last game, the results will not change.

#6 Kolkata Knight Riders Performance In IPL 2022:

Shreyas Iyer guided KKR to a season-opening win against CSK. With a 5 winless stretch in the middle of the season, their NRR collapsed and they missed the playoffs spot. Even though having high-quality players in the pool, they struggled to preserve the momentum. They finished 6th with 6 victories in 14 games.

Rishabh Pant’s DC had a good season, and they were confident to advance with their impressive NRR. But,  inconsistent victories got them off track. They had an opportunity to reach the playoffs thanks to their efficiency level but were upset by Mumbai Indians in the penultimate match, allowing RCB to enter the playoffs. DC placed fifth in the rankings with 7 victories out of 14.

Under the new leadership of Faf du Plessis, RCB went on a spectacular hot streak. Their prospects of making the playoffs appeared to be slim. Despite having a poor run rate, only their consistency allowed them to clinch the safe zone in the standings. As Delhi surrendered their final game against Mumbai, RCB were grateful to MI for placing them in the fourth slot, where they would meet the formidable Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator.

LSG, one of the season’s newbies, has had a top-notch and impressive season headed by KL Rahul. They lost their first game of the season by a big margin against another debutant, the Gujarat Titans. Lucknow had an excellent run and hoped to win their maiden title. With a dramatic two-run triumph against Kolkata Knight Riders, Super Giants overcame a concern to go to the IPL playoffs. LSG will face a commanding RCB, in the Eliminator.
