Titans captain Hardik Pandya, on the other hand, stood tall for the team, with another aggressive knock partnering with David Miller.

‘PLAYER OF THE MATCH’ awarded to Rashid Khan
KKR got off to a sluggish start in their pursuit of the GT’s respectable total of 156, losing 3 wickets in the power play. Sam Billings and Sunil Narine, the Kolkata Knight Riders openers, were removed for 4 and 5 runs, respectively, by Mohammed Shami. Then after, Lockie Ferguson removed Nitish Rana for only two runs. Following the power play, Kolkata’s captain Shreyas Iyer was removed for just 12 runs by the rookie Yash Dayal.
In the meantime, Rinku Singh, the lone batter who lacked a companion to record a huge knock, appeared to build much-needed confidence but fell short by handing his wicket to Yash Dayal after scoring 35 (28). Hardik Pandya, the GT captain, utilized brilliant tactics to bring Rashid Khan into the attack, to remove Venkatesh Iyer on 17 runs and Shivam Mavi, making the equation challenging. Andre Russell and Umesh Yadav handled the death overs to keep KKR’s hopes of winning the match alive.
Andre Russell, on the other hand, strengthened the spirit of the team to win the game with a quickfire knock which included 6 sixes and one four at a strike rate of 192.00. But his efforts were fruitless, as Alzarri Joseph of the GT dismissed him at 48 off 25 balls. That’s the KKR’s highest score in the innings. Umesh Yadav was also at his best to get a winning run, but he was struck after hitting 15 off 15 balls. Eventually, Gujarat had the upper hand and beat the KKR by 8 runs in a dramatic duel.
