Indian ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is certainly one of the most hated names in England. Right from the English players to their fans, the Brits can not stand R Ashwin’s guts. It all started with the Mankad incident back in the 2019 IPL when DC’s R Ashwin sent RR’s Jos Buttler back to the pavilion for stepping out of the crease during the course of bowling. Here is why Shane Warne Slams Indian Team Management.

Ashwin was heavily criticized after the infamous “Mankad” incident as it was against the spirit of the Gentlemen’s game. Now, two years later Ashwin has found himself in one more such incident which has divided the world of cricket and made the legendary spinner the talk of the town.

IPL 2021: What Really Happened?

R Ashwin was seen getting into loggerheads with Kolkata Knight Riders’ Tim Southee and skipper Eoin Morgan when the DC spinner got out for 9 runs in Match 41 of VIVO IPL 2021. Tim Southee was unhappy about the fact that Ashwin and DC captain Rishabh Pant bagged an extra run after a throw that was pointed at the stumps bounced off Pant’s arm a delivery before Ashwin’s dismissal. Southee pointed the same to Ashwin when the Indian spinner was returning back into Pavillion.

Ashwin seemingly didn’t like Southee’s comments and got into an argument with the Kiwi pacer. KKR skipper Eoin Morgan also joined his fellow teammate to point Ashwin’s actions during the course of the game to steal the extra run. KKR wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik had to barge into the scene to solve the heated debate.

IPL 2021: What The Legends Had To Say About The Incident?

Former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull: “Really shouldn’t have run for that.”

Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar: “Generally batsmen don’t run if the ball hits them.”

Ace Australian spinner Shane Warne: “The world shouldn’t be divided on this topic and Ashwin,” he tweeted. “It’s pretty simple – it’s disgraceful and should never happen. “Why does Ashwin have to be that guy again? I think (Eoin Morgan) had every right to nail him!”

Interestingly, former Indian batting superstar Virender Sehwag sided with Ashwin and Pant. Sehwag penned down a very interesting tweet while pointing out a similar incident that took place during the 2019 WC finals between England and New Zealand.
