ABOUT THE MATCH

The 6th match of the Indian Premier League is going to be played between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 24th September 2020 (Thursday). In the 2nd match, the KXIP has lost a very heart-breaking match against Delhi Capitals just because of an umpiring error while RCB has started the tournament with a winning note over SRH.

RCB Vs KXIP is scheduled to be held at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Match Preview:

Kings XI Punjab:

  • In the last match, Mayank Agarwal had played his best innings ever in IPL and showed a tremendous batting effort. Big players like Glenn Maxwell, Lokesh Rahul, and Nicholas Pooran were not that effective.
  • In the batting unit of KXIP, there is sufficient talent that can produce a better result.
  • In the last match against Delhi Capitals, Mohammad Shami was the only bowler, who bowled fearlessly, in proper accuracy and could take a couple of wickets very easily. Ravi Bishnoi also bowled well.

Probable Playing XI:

Lokesh Rahul (c & wk), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Nicholas Pooran, Sarfaraz Khan, Glenn Maxwell, Krishnappa Gowtham, Sheldon Cottrell, Mohammed Shami, Ravi Bishnoi.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

  • In the last match, Umesh Yadav’s bowling was quite expensive for the team. Maybe that happened because of the swing that makes him successful majorly in the powerplay. RCB might go with a different bowler to start with. Washington Sundar can be included in this position.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini are fantastic bowlers and showed their expertise in the last match. But, depending upon Shivam Dube for almost three overs is not that much good in the bowling attack of RCB.
  • Devdutt Padikkal witnessed just what he is and scored an amazing half-century. Both Aaron Finch and he struggled a lot with the dot balls between the edges, though. Captain Kohli looked rusty and it happened only because of the power of AB de Villiers that they managed to go for a good total.

Probable Playing XI:

Virat Kohli (c), Aaron Finch, Devdutt Padikkal, AB de Villiers, Josh Philippe (wk), Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn, Yuzvendra Chahal

Pitch Report:

The venue, Dubai International Cricket stadium is very large which balances batsmen as well as bowlers quite well.

Weather condition:

It is a good thing that here rain is something we can’t expect.

Probable top performers:

Kings XI Punjab:

KL Rahul:

This year, KL Rahul will have three crucial roles for his team KXIP, as a captain, wicketkeeper, and batsman. In the last IPL season, he has an average of 58 points in a single match.

Mayank Agarwal :

In the last match against the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mayank Agarwal’s performance was very impressive.

Mohammad Shami:

For KXIP, Mohammad Shami will be leading the pace attack just as he performed in the last match. Usually, he takes a couple of important wickets and has a higher economy rate, very important for the KXIP.

Probable winning team:

KXIP would try their best to win this match as losing this match would complicate their points in the points table and push them down. But they have to improve their batting performance to win this match as maximum batsmen are looking out of form. Whereas RCB comes into the match with a victory and their batting line-up is perfect. It is expected to have a good competition but  RCB is looking more strong than KXIP with their powerful batting line up.
