KL Rahul Is Now The Fastest Indian Batsmen To Score 2000 Runs:

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) skipper KL Rahul was the fastest Indian to score 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League ( IPL) on Thursday, shattering Sachin Tendulkar’s eight-year-old record.

Rahul was successful in KXIP ‘s second IPL 2020 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Dubai, UAE. He took 60 innings to crack the 2k mark. Tendulkar had taken 63 innings to cross the level.

Teammate Chris Gayle of Rahul holds the record for the fastest 2000 runs in the IPL, in just 48 innings. Another former KXIP cricketer, Shaun Marsh, was second in 52 innings. Virat Kohli won the toss and asked KXIP to fight first in Dubai.

But Rahul made the most of his chances, read the drop in the catch, and became the first batsman to reach a century this season. He reached the ton in 62 balls with four, over Dale Steyn in the penultimate.

And this isn’t it. The KXIP skipper has set a new norm. His undefeated 132 off 69 is now the highest score for the Indian IPL. KXIP lost its season opener to Delhi Capitals in Super Over, in a match marred by an arbiter of controversy.
