RR initially won the toss, and Steve Smith elected to bat. The Australian cricketer scored 57 runs, setting a 178-run target, to help his side reach 177/6 after 20 overs.

Early on, RCB lost Aaron Finch, but the Chase was rebuilt by Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal. AB de Villiers scored an unbeaten half-century to wrap up the match for RCB, with two balls to spare, after the duo’s dismissals.
