Jadeja smashed a four while smashing a cut square to Matty Potts on the sixth ball of 79th over to complete his third century in test cricket.

In no time, Jadeja completed his ton, while Shami who tried to hit a six over third man with an upper cut got out at 16.
Soon Jadeja too walked back when trying to hit a big shot against the veteran Anderson. He scored 104 runs.
While the skipper Jasprit Bumrah then provided some entertainment with the bat as he smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes to help India reach 416 in the first innings.

Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara, who were appointed to handle the opening role in the absence of team India’s designated openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, failed to do so and got out cheaply. Gill scored 17, while Pujara walked back to pavilion after scoring just 13.
Hanuma Vihari made a good start but he also failed to convert his 20-run knock into a big one. The former captain Virat Kohli was unfortunate to be bowled on the ball he attempted to leave but the ball caught the edge of the bat and struck the stumps. While Shreyas Iyer, who began his innings with three fours in T-20 fashion, walked back after only scoring 15.
