ICC Test rankings: James Anderson replaces Pat Cummins as top-ranked Test bowler

ICC Test rankings For bowlers: James Anderson, a seasoned English fast bowler, is ranked as the best bowler in the most recent ICC Men’s Test Rankings. He defeated India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Australia’s Pat Cummins, who served as captain.

After taking seven wickets for England in last week’s 267-run victory against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui, James Anderson rose to the top slot, ending Cummins’ four-year tenure as the best Test bowler.

It is the sixth time James Anderson has held the top spot in the Test rankings

The right-arm pacer is the first reaching the summit in May 2016 when he surpassed teammate Stuart Broad. Also, Ashwin to take the top spot in a distinguished international career that began in 2003.

Cummins falls to third with 858 rating points

But, he has a chance to recover the top rank if Australia’s current Test series against India goes well. The current rankings update did not completely exclude Indian athletes; in fact, spinner Ravindra Jadeja moved up seven positions to rank ninth among Test bowlers.

The latest ICC Test rankings for all-rounder have moved him up two spots to fifth overall as compensation. The focus of this week’s rankings is the shift at the top of the Test bowler rankings, but there are also many players moving up in other categories.

The ICC Test rankings for batter place New Zealanders Tom Blundell (11th) and Devon Conway (17th) in career-high ranks, while England’s Ollie Pope (23rd), Harry Brook (31st), and Ben Duckett (38th) also earn the honor with their personal highest rankings.
