What are the challenges for Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024?
After finishing the T20 World Cup 2022 as runners up under Babar Azam, Pakistan has been going through a tough face in the shortest format lately.
The team which is presently in Texas in an attempt to turn things will be looking to complete the task at hand and claim their second T20 World Cup title.
However, things are not at all in favour of Babar & Co. currently as they lost a series to England by 2-0 before coming for the marquee event.

Pakistan Team Wicketkeeper chaos (Rizwan or Azam)
Mohammad Rizwan has turned out to be one of Pakistan’s best wicketkeeper batters in last couple of years. But right before the mega event, the team shifted the duties and gave the gloves to newly joined Azam Khan.
With both the players managed to make into the final playing 11 in Pakistan’s recent matches, Rizwan has performed decently with the bat and in field too, but Azam has not been able to impress much. While Azam’s batting was not up to the mark.
Pakistan Team Consistency problems
Few of the big names in Pakistan’s squad are facing a difficult time at the middle which is a big headache for the Asian giant ahead of the mega event.
Players like Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan need to show their A game to keep their side in the winners’ circle.

Pakistan Team Captaincy confusion
Pakistan has reached semis in 2021 and played the finale in 2022 T20 World Cup in Babar Azam’s captaincy. But their debacle in the ODI World Cup 2023 has forced Babar to step down from captaincy.
Shaheen Shah Afridi had been appointed as Pakistan’s skipper for T20Is after Babar, but that did not work out, as the PCB (Pakistan cricket board) once again showed their faith in Babar and given him the responsibility to lead men in green ahead of the marquee event.
Pakistan will play their first game in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 on June 6 against USA in Dallas before facing the mighty India in New York on Saturday, June 9.
