Kumar was flawless in his intent to struck big shots and recorded 61 not out in just 25 balls. He smashed 6 fours and 4 maximums in the process and also went pass 1000-run mark in the year 2022.

It was his 9th fifty of the year so far that guided India to 186 for 5 in 20 overs.

In reply, Zimbabwe was seen clueless ahead of India bowlers during the initial overs of the game.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who as expected started the bowling proceedings for India, again provided his side a wicket in the first over itself in his wicket-maiden over.

Arshdeep then removed another batter in the second over to put Zimbabwe in pressure. Captain Ervine and Seam Williams then tried rescue their side, but Shami didn’t let happen, and got rid off Williams.

It was for the fourth time in the innings, when a new bowler took a wicket in their first over. As this time Pandya removed Ervine in his first over.

Shami bagged his second wicket in the seventh over of the innings.

With target was looking too big to chase, Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl shifted the gears and started taking chances especially over spinners. They collected 60 off 35 before Ashwin bowled Burl.

The experienced spinner then grabbed another two in his final over to finish his spell on an impressive note.

Rohit handed the ball to Hardik for the 17th over and he dismissed Raza for 34. While Axar Patel took the last wicket to hand India a comfortable victory.

India vs Zimbabwe was the last match of the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2022.

With India and Pakistan qualified for the semis from their group as the 1st and 2nd team, respectively. They will now meet the qualifiers from Group 1 on the coming Wednesday and Thursday.

Pakistan will face New Zealand in the first semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 9. While India will lock horns with England in the second semi-final on November 10 at the Adelaide Oval.
